ところで、“which it is a 〜”なんですか? “it” が余計なような気がするんですが…

問題の英文は，以下。

If T is a class type (including unions), its associated classes are: the class
itself; the class of which it is a member, if any; and its direct and indirect base
classes. Its associated namespaces are the namespaces in which its associated classes
are defined.

結論から言うと，この「it」は必要だと思うし，文法的にも正しいと思う。
問題の文は，

the class of which it is a member, if any

これを分解してみるっす。
すると，「its associated classes are the class」。それから「it is a member of the class」。
ここで，「it」は，T を指しているんで，もとにもどしてあげると，
「T is a member of the class」。
「the class」が同じものを表していること。
それと，書いている人の意図が，おそらくだけど，「T がメンバとなっているクラス」
であることから，上記2つを関係詞を使って，くっつけてあげます。
すると，
「the class of which T is a member of」
となるわけですな。
もしくは，
「the class that T is a member of」
でも，同じだと思いまつ。

で，オレ的訳文は，
「T がクラスなら，関連クラスは，以下のクラスだよー。まず，T そのもの。
それから，T がメンバとなっているクラス(あればだけど)。（ｒｙ」

とまあ，C++ をほとんど知らん私が，偉そうにほざいてみました。
