最難関大への英作文第2章過去問9〜10

どうもいっす。
本日，第2章の2週目が終了しました。
続いて第3章に突入します。

あー，GTDの本，読み終わっています。
すばらしい本でした。感想書くかも。
シンプルに言って，
「ワタシはこうやったら成功したので，こうやるのがいいですよ」と言ってる人と，
「ワタシは自分もこの方法をやっていて，また，他の多くの人に対して勧めて，
実践してもらって，彼らもまた，成功してきました」と言うのでは，
大きな違い。うさんくささが全然違う。
ま，その他人というのも，うさんくさい宗教の信者になら，意味なしだが。
ワタシはというと，GTDをはじめるための準備をしているところです。

さて，英作です。
間が空きましたが，いっときましょう。

第2章過去問9

When I buy furniture or something eles, I prefer to those made of
wood because wood has something that only living things have and I
feel comfortable with it. While things made of artificial materials
are best when they are new, things made of wood become better. What I
like most about wood is that it becomes more beautiful as time goes
by.

結構，突っ込みがいがありそうだ。

第1文
- I prefer to --> I prefer those
  - to はいらない。I prefer A to B とかで使う。初歩的な間違い。これは非常によろしくない。
- やさしい雰囲気はどこへ行った?
  - has something --> has something warm
- 制限用法か非制限用法かは微妙なところだと思います。
第2文
- things made of wood --> wooden products
  - things made of wood が冗長というか，使いすぎ。言い回しを変えましょう。
最後の文
- about wood --> about wooden products
- 木が美しくなるわけではない。

第2章過去問10

Because of economic development, children these days are given a lot
of manufactured toys, so they don't need to make them for
themselves. Children used to make toys for themselves, get satisfied,
and grow both physically and mentally.

これも突っ込みがいがあるぞ。

第2文
- 「かつて」はどこへいった?
  - 文頭に，In old days
- get satisfied --> get satisfied with the things they made
  - ここで，一回切る。
grow mentally ってあまり見聞きしたことねぇなぁと思って，ググったら結構あったのでおっけーかな。
- とすると，付け加える第3文は，
  - By keeping doing so, they grew both physically and mentally. となるかな。

第2章過去問9〜10のまとめ

家具や道具はなるべく木の素材を選ぶ
- When I am shopping for furniture or something else, I always try to buy things made of wood
木は命あるモノ独特の優しい雰囲気がある
