最難関大への英作文問題21から25

おいっす〜。
帰省中にも，隙を見つけて，最難英作やってました。
あと認知療法の本を読んだり。いい本だったので，そのうち紹介します。
さて，おかげさまで，第1章の2周目が完了し，今日から第2章へ突入する予定です。

その前に，腑に落ちないところをば。

P.92 問題40です。そうです，第1章の最終問題です。
解答例には，

These days parents want to drive their children to wherever they are going until
they become old enough to drive.

とありますが，drive their children to wherever という部分にひっかかりを覚えます。
たぶん，「to」はいらないはず，というかあったら間違いなのでは?
簡単に言うと，
I want to go to there.
I want to go there.
で，上が間違っていて，下が正しいということ。

なので，Google先生にお伺いを立ててみます。
"drive her to wherever she" で検索すると，46件。
対して，
"drive her wherever she" で検索すると，約70,300件。
この結果のみから言うと，drive them wherever they ... が正しいと思われます。
気になる人は，辞書と文法書を開いて下さいな。
ワタシは，drive them wherever they ... の方が正しいと判断します。
